Reconciliation

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is the ritual of the Christian community, under the leadership of the bishop or priest, to which sinners are reconciled both to God and to the church.  Reconciliation is found on almost every page of the New Testament; it is an essential part of the gospel message.  The usual method of reconciliation or confession is done on an individual basis.  There are times when we hold Penance Services for the parish community.  Even though we celebrate this sacrament together one still makes an individual confession as part of the service.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession is offered every Saturday from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m.  If a person cannot make it at that time they are invited to call rectory and make an appointment with one of the priest.  the Penance Services are usually held sometime during Advent and Lent.  There may be other times, see the weekly bulletin for details.

As children reach 2nd grade or above, we extend them an invitation to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation. This is done through participation in our Regional School or Parish School of Religion Program.
